Hola!

Received Devin’s email! I don´t think guacamole mix exists here ha-ha, so I will have to make due and find another way to make some good guacamole mix.

Cool that you guys got a tree for Avocados! I hope it grows ha-ha. There is literally a ton here! But the thing is the avocados are gigantic ha-ha. It´s pretty awesome because you get a ton more avocado, I have been eating avocado with basically everything this past couple weeks, so I have definitely been pretty content with that.

Sounds like McKenzie’s farewell was good! Tell her I say congratulations again and that I hope everything goes well with her! Cool about the other kid in the ward too, I have a friend from the singles ward that is serving in the same mission. We are definitely be going to see a lot more missionaries this year. I can´t remember if I told you guys or not but our mission is going to receive 40 new missionaries this next transfer and I have heard that they are going to be re-opening some areas that have been closed in the past. So we are definitely excited about that!

Pretty crazy about Ricky! I hope all works out with that. I continue to pray for them and the rest of the family. I am also waiting to hear the news about what happens with dad, so keep me updated with that! Tell everyone in the ward that I say hi and that I hope all is well with them.

This week was pretty good. Nothing to crazy happened, just another normal week with a lot of work! We did have divisions with the zone leaders though, and that went well. I got to work Elder Scott, and his grandfather’s brother is the Apostle Elder Scott! So I thought that was something cool that I would share with you guys. I always like when the Zone Leaders come and do divisions in our areas. It´s always a good time, we get more good work done and I learn a lot from them. So that was something cool that happened this week.

Right now Elder Bowhill is in Resistencia with the Zone Leaders because President Haymen called a meeting with all of the leaders. He had to travel to Apostles to meet up with them and then they left together to Chaco. I had to spend yesterday and today with Elder Rushton and Elder Burke (the other elders in Oberà) and tomorrow we have a meeting in Apostoles to learn what President Haymen taught the zone and district leaders today. So tomorrow we will be traveling a lot! But good news is that I finally should be receiving my packets you guys sent. So I am excited about that! Actually we just received a call from the ZL´s and they said they have the packages! So I will be receiving them tomorrow!

Other than that there really isn´t anything too crazy to share! Just walking and working and teaching a ton ha-ha. We have some people that are progressing well and we found some new people this last week that I think have a lot of potential to progress, so I will keep you guys updated with that in the future.

I received an e-mail from Tanner today ha-ha. He excited and sad at the same time to be leaving the mission ha-ha. I don´t know his return date but I think sometime in March, so I am sure the Holmes family is excited for that!

Alright, sorry this letter is a little short but I am going to wrap this up and try to get some photos over! Love you all and hope you have a great week! Know I am keeping you guys in my prayers and working hard each day! Look forward to hearing from everyone next week!

Elder Rushton took this today! We all wanted to play basketball so we went to the church to play and after 30 minutes it started to pour rain haha. We all still wanted to play so we played ball in the rain for a good two hours or so haha. Soaking wet, but still a good time.

We snapped this last night with Elder Rushton´s camera on the city bus. It poured rain last night and we had our rain gear on. Thought it was a cool photo! Reading the scriptures.

¿Bueno?...Bueno.

Alright, enough Spanish for now. This week was good! and I have some news and interesting things to tell you guys.

First, President Pawluk here in Obera is moving to Chaco this week, so they are going to call a new Branch President this week. We will find out who next Sunday, so I will make sure to let you guys now. President Pawluk is going through a ton of things right now and he and his family are having a lot of trials with their house and their family and work and moving down to Chaco would be a lot better for them. This means that President Haymen might be making a trip to Oberà. Since the branch is a part of the mission Presidente Haymen has to call the branch presidente, but we aren´t sure if he or one of his councelors are going to come, so I will make usre to let you guys know what happens!

Second, another funny and interesting experience haha. Last Saturday Elder Bowhill and I were heading over to visit one of our investigators. When we arrived at house everything was locked up and she wasn´t home at that moment, but her neighbors were having a church service outside their house haha. There was a good 30 people together and they were about to start there service, they saw us and yelled something at us telling us to come join their service with them haha. Elder Bowhill and I thought "Bueno, we can go for a 15 minutes or so and maybe they will give us the chance to share something with them." They started singing some songs with a couple men playing guitars and they were all clapping and yelling at the top of them lounges the songs. Elder Bowhill and I just listened and stayed as revent as we could haha. Afterwards they said their prayer, and in this church they all say different prayers but at the same time and they say them practically yelling. So their was 30 people or so yelling their indivisual prayers at the same time. A lot them were grateful for us and praying for us in their prayers, so it was definitely an interesting experience haha. By the time the finished praying and singing we had spent a good half hour or so their so we told the pastor that we had to leave to continue visiting people and we didn´t have a chance to share something because we had other people to visit. But it was definitely an interesting experience haha. Thought I would share it with you guys.

Bueno, now I have some good news about one of our investigators, Rosa Da Rosa! She is progressing really well and has a baptism date for the 23rd! So we are hoping that all goes well with that. She came to church this last Sunday and she is currently quiting smoking after smoking for the last 40 years or so. She started smoking when she was 14 and she´s in her 50´s now. It´s been cool to see her progress. She´s been reading the Book of Mormon along with her Bible and all the pamphlets we leave, shes been praying and she has a real desire to learn the truth. It has been cool to see her faith grow this past fews weeks and we are doing all we can to help her meet her goal for the 23rd. I will let you guys know what happens with that!

Other then that there is anything else to exciting going on haha. We have a meeting with President Haymen next week so I will let you guys know how that goes, but I don´t think we have until the 18th or 19th. I am going to wrap this up and try to get some photos over! Love you all and will write more next week.

Elder Deniston. :)

Elder Bowhill y yo con Presidente Pawluk. My shirt sleeve is all out of wack and it looks my arm is snapped haha

A sweet statue of some indian haha. Thought it was cool so I snapped a photo of it

Hahaha. I recieved the letters that Devin sent me! Let her know and tell her I said thank you and that I was really happy to finally recieve it! I loved the little photo book she gave me with the photos of the family and the kids.

Elder Burke, one of the elder that lives with us, snapped a photo of me sleeping on the bus when we had to travel to Apostoles for our Zone Conference, and when he saw this photo os Kylie he started laughing and said it just must be a classic Deniston face haha.

Familia,

Thanks for canceling the card. I haven´t called this number yet but I am going to as soon as I can and I am going to have them send the card to the house address in California. Then you guys can just send me the card from the house. I think that would be best. If there is a 2-day or 3-day shipping option that is faster than standard shipping and it´s not too expensive, it would be awesome if you guys could do that. Send the card to the mission office address:

Entre Rios 435

Resistencia Chaco

CP 3500

...for future reference, when you guys send anything to the mission always use this address.

Sounds cool about Sunday´s sacrament meeting! Ours also was very good. It´s cool to hear people bare testimony about the same things in a different language on the other side of the world. We definitely do need more missionaries! But on this subject, we heard the other day that there is now more than 80,000 missionaries that are in the field or will soon be entering the field since they changed the age limit, I´m not sure how accurate that is, that´s only what we heard! We will have to wait and find out next general conference. Tell dad that next transfer a missionary from New Zealand will be arriving and he will be the first missionary from New Zealand to enter our mission, so that´s pretty cool! There is a slim possibility I could train him, but we will see what happens ha-ha.

This week was good! Some interesting things happened that I am going to tell you about ha-ha. We traveled to Apostles to have our Zone Conference which was really good, probably my favorite Zone Conference yet. What happens is each month the zone leaders have a conference with President and he teaches them and explains to them what he feels we need to do as a mission for the new month, and then they have a meeting with all of us to explain what was taught. I could definitely tell that what President Di Giovanni taught was inspired, because the conference was really good and what we needed as a district at this time. It focused a lot on unity and working together in missionary work. I don´t have time to explain everything, but it was really good.

Something that was kind of crazy that happened this week ha-ha. We went to visit an in-active member and when we arrived at his house we saw him in the backyard of his neighbor’s house with is neighbors and at first we couldn´t tell what they were doing. We decided to wait for a few minutes to see if he would come out to talk to us but he and his neighbors began to take a huge pig out of a pen to kill it! We watched from a distance as 3 grown men wrestled a pig down and murdered it Argentina style ha-ha. I won´t explain what they did because it was pretty crazy but it was definitely an eye-opener ha-ha. Thought I would share that with you guys!

Other interesting news! I´m skinner! Walking miles and miles up and down huge hills in the scorching sun has caused me to lose a little weight. No worries though, totally healthy, I just look like I did back when I was wrestling ha-ha.

Other than that nothing too crazy is going on. The entire zone in stuck in a drought right now. We had a ton of success in January and now were all searching for people for February! Elder Bowhill and I have some people that have potential to progress and we have a few baptismal dates set for the 23rd with a few people, so we will see how the next few weeks go! It´s difficult because our area is basically the Salt Lake City of the Iglesias Assemblée De Dios, a church that is really popular here in Argentina. We´re not sure exactly, but we think this church teaches their members anti-LDS doctrine and to completely ignore the missionaries. It´s really a miracle that we had these last few baptisms here because they were the first baptisms in a little less than a year. So pray for the zone, because right now were all working like crazy to have a good transfer!

I haven´t received the packages yet! Elder Scott, or Zone Leader, told us that the new elders that recently started working in the office don´t really know what they´re doing exactly yet and that he thinks that´s the problem. He worked in the office for 7 months so I am going to take his word for it. He also said that a lot of other elders are still waiting to receive their packages for Christmas, so I am sure they are just waiting to be picked in Chaco to be shipped out to us. Tell Chelsea I received he Happy New Card though! Was happy to get that!

Elder Deniston!
